Special Issue Wins 2025 CCCC Award

Congratulations to Jason Tham and Timothy Ponce, guest editors of the Programmatic Perspectives special issue "Design and Design Thinking in Technical and Professional Communication Programs (Volume 12, Issue 2, 2024), who won the 2025 CCCC Technical and Scientific Communication Award in the category of Best Original Collection of Essays in Technical or Scientific Communication. The selection committee noted in part: 

"Exploring design thinking within Technical and Professional Communication programs, pedagogy, and practices, this collection offers a unique approach targeting programs, WPA work, students, usability, and more. Topics include the role of AI in technical and professional communications classrooms, participatory design methods, inclusive curriculum development, and applications of design thinking in WPA and teaching. Each section explores innovative approaches, challenges, and methodologies for enhancing technical and professional communication education and practice, highlighting critical issues such as accessibility, equity, and ethical considerations. The unique contribution of this collection is its call to decenter genre approaches to technical communication, instead opting to focus on design thinking as central to technical communication."
